John D. Krisor, Jr.
We have found that clients want to know about the background and experience of their attorney. During the course of representation of our clients, we become well acquainted with them and their legal problems. Let me take this opportunity to tell you about myself.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, graduating from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois, in 1965. My education continued at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I received a partial scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1969. While at Xavier, I had the privilege of serving as President of my senior class.
My law school education was at University of Notre Dame where I received a full scholarship, graduating in 1972. While at Notre Dame Law School, I served as a law clerk and intern in the St. Joseph County Prosecuting Attorney’s office during 1971 and 1972.
Since graduating from law school, I maintain my education through attendance at numerous continuing legal education seminars on a wide variety of subjects. I continue to average several days each month in continuing legal education.
I was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Indiana in 1972 and in the State of Michigan in 1985. In September, 1972, I was appointed and sworn as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for St. Joseph County, Indiana, a position which I held for twenty-six years. The majority of my years with the prosecutor’s office have been spent as a trial attorney; two years in traffic court; four years handling drug cases,
and for the last sixteen years, I specialized in the trial of murder cases. As of January 1, 1999, when my tenure ended, I had successfully prosecuted over seventy murders trials.
I have taught a course in litigation at Indiana University at South Bend, as well as criminal justice courses at Tri-State University at South Bend and Bethel College in Mishawaka.
I am married to Mary Jo, a member of our team, and am the proud father Joy Danielle, whom is married to Captain Daniel Cornelius in the United States Air Force, and the proud grandfather of three grandsons and one granddaughter. My family and I are active at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, and I have been privileged to hold a number of positions of responsibility within our church. During 1996 and 1997, I served as President of Morris Park Country Club. My spare time is spent primarily with my family, reading and traveling.
I am admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Indiana and the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern District of Indiana, and the Supreme Court of the United States. I am a member of the St. Joseph County, Indiana, Michigan and American Bar Associations, as well as a member of The American Bar Association, Family Law Division, The Commercial Law League of America and The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys.
